Was working out at the Port of Tacoma rechecking some old control with GPS. We started in the North zone (probably from a previous job) and we hit the point vertically great but we were out 0.08' horizontally. We corrected to the South zone and tightened the horizontal but now missed vertically by up to 0.08'.
Any one have issues before having a vertical shift between zones? I get the slight horizontal shift but the vertical shift doesn't make sense.

Could it have to do with the different scale factor each coordinate system would have at that point with respect to the projection?

Maybe. Not a bad idea. I just didn't think that SP zones had any vertical with them. Something to mess around with this summer though.

Is the correct/same geoid installed. Not sure what gps you are using but for me I have to select the geoid ever time I set up a project and choose north or south. Maybe it got switched to something else when you switched zones.
