The chapter meeting this month was in regards to FEMA and the updates to the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) that will be coming up soon. They've added changes to coastal areas and included flood velocity zones. I got in touch with the speaker Dennis Dixon, CFM with Pierce County and he agreed to send me the PowerPoint to hopefully upload to this forum. There's a lot of information there and no way could I explain it better.
Elevation Certificates and LOMAs (Letter of Map Amendments) are a great way to stay busy. It's a good thing to get familiar with them.
